Register for the Sproochentest on MyINL in six steps: account, session, 75 euro fee and convocation, plus postponement, refund and accommodations.

You register for the Sproochentest on MyINL, the platform of the Institut national des langues Luxembourg (INLL): create an account, choose a session, pay 75 euros and receive your convocation at least 15 days before the first test. Six steps take you from account to confirmed seat.

The six steps

  1. Create your MyINL account. Use the Sign in / Register button on myinl.inll.lu. INLL asks candidates to enter personal information exactly, both when creating the account and when registering, because no changes can be made once the data is submitted.
  2. Open the Sproochentest exam offer. The list shows each session with its time window, location, exam dates, registration deadline and status.
  3. Choose a session that is open. A status of "Registration closed" or "Sold Out" means that session is full or past its deadline. INLL adds sessions regularly and asks candidates to check the platform often. Registration for the March 2027 sessions opens on Tuesday 10 November 2026 at 10:00.
  4. Complete the registration file. The Grand-Ducal regulation of 22 July 2019 (article 3) lists the content of the file: the registration form filled in and signed, a copy of your passport or, failing that, your identity card or travel document, proof of payment of the fee and, where applicable, your reasoned request for reasonable accommodations with supporting documents.
  5. Pay the fee: 75 euros. The amount is stated in the INLL FAQ and on Guichet.lu. MyINL links a document that describes the payment modalities.
  6. Receive your convocation. INLL sends it at least 15 days before the first test with the dates, times and places of the tests. Definitive registration follows the order in which complete files arrive, within the capacity of the test.

Identity documents on the test day

Bring a valid original on the day. MyINL lists a national identity card, a passport, a residence permit or a travel document, and states that only originals are accepted. The INLL Sproochentest page lists the documents it recognises as identity documents:

  • a foreign passport;
  • an identity card issued by the competent foreign authorities;
  • a refugee travel document issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  • a travel document for stateless persons issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  • a travel document for foreigners issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs;
  • a residence permit issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration;
  • a certificate from the Directorate of Immigration stating that the holder is a refugee under the Geneva Convention of 28 July 1951.

You also bring your convocation. The regulation (article 7) asks candidates to be in front of the exam room at least 15 minutes before the start.

The nationality law (article 17) adds that the State reimburses registration fees to the language examination under the conditions and ceiling set by Grand-Ducal regulation. Guichet.lu explains that you send the reimbursement claim to the Ministry of Justice after you submit your nationality application to the civil registrar of your commune.

Reasonable accommodations

If you need adjustments, ask when you register. On a motivated request the director of INLL decides, adapts or suspends the following arrangements (law of 8 March 2017, article 15):

  • a classroom or seat arrangement that suits you;
  • a separate room for the tests;
  • adapted questionnaires;
  • extra time during the tests;
  • extra breaks;
  • tests held outside the school, at home or in an institution;
  • technological and human aids.

INLL asks for the disability to be certified by a document from a medical authority, attached to the registration file. The FAQ adds that candidates submit their medical advice and needs through the contact form as soon as registration is confirmed.

After you register: use the time

A confirmed seat gives you a fixed date to work toward. The test has two parts, both required: a 10 minute speaking test at A2 (an interview and a picture description) and a listening test at B1 (three recordings, each played twice). Pass marks work as follows: at least half of the points in speaking, or an average of at least 50% across the two tests.

Put your registration date next to a study calendar:

  1. Take the free level test to see where you start: 12 questions across A1, A2 and B1 in under 8 minutes, with no account needed.
  2. Work through the six free lessons, then the A2 oral topics and the picture description with 13 exam-style photos.
  3. Train listening with the four B1 sets, the first one free, and finish with the timed mock exam.

MoienLab Full Access covers steps 2 and 3 in one place: 57 lessons from A1.1 to B1, 570 exercises and Luxembourgish audio in every lesson, for 59 € over 12 months with a single payment and no subscription. See Full Access and book your Sproochentest seat the same week.

FAQ

How do I register for the Sproochentest?

Create an account on MyINL, open the Sproochentest exam offer, choose a session with open registration, enter your details and pay the 75 euro fee. INLL then sends your convocation at least 15 days before the first test.

There is no limit on attempts. You can register again once the results of your previous test are available, according to the INLL FAQ.
