Every session MyINL listed on 11 October 2026 was closed or sold out, which makes the March 2027 opening the next place to book. INLL notes that more than 800 places are made available every month and that they are booked very quickly, that dates for all sessions are not published at the same time and that new sessions are added regularly. Check MyINL on the morning of 10 November and again in the following days.

Your checklist before 10 November

  1. Create your MyINL account now. INLL asks candidates to enter their personal information exactly: no changes can be made once the data has been submitted, and the information from registration is reproduced on the diploma. Type your name as it appears on your identity document.
  2. Check your identity document. On the day you present a valid original: national identity card, passport, residence permit or travel document. INLL accepts only originals, never copies or photographs.
  3. Prepare the 75 euro fee. MyINL links a document that describes the payment modalities for the Sproochentest. Read it before the opening so payment takes minutes.
  4. Plan any reasonable accommodations. Article 15 of the nationality law lists what the director of INLL can arrange on a motivated request: a separate room, extra time, extra breaks, adapted questionnaires and technological or human aids. INLL asks for the disability to be certified by a medical authority, with the document attached to the registration file.
  5. Choose the window that suits you. Sessions on MyINL run in morning, midday and afternoon windows. Pick the one where you speak and listen best.

Be ready for 10:00 on 10 November

  1. Sign in to MyINL before 10:00 and open the Sproochentest exam offer page.
  2. Keep your identity document, your payment method and your details, exactly as on your document, within reach.
  3. When the March sessions appear, compare the time window and the registration deadline of each one, then choose the session that fits your preparation.
  4. Complete the registration and pay the 75 euro fee as INLL's payment modalities describe. Definitive registration follows the order of complete files, so a ready file is a fast file.
  5. Save your confirmation and watch your inbox for the convocation.

If the session you want is full, check the platform again: INLL adds sessions regularly through the year to give additional registration opportunities.

What the Sproochentest checks

The Sproochentest has two compulsory tests. The speaking test lasts 10 minutes, in two parts of 5: an interview on a topic you choose from two and the description of a visual medium you choose from three. The listening test uses three recordings, each played twice, in 25 minutes. You pass with at least half of the points in speaking, or with an average of at least 50% over both tests.

What happens after you book

  • Confirmation by file order. Definitive registration follows the order in which complete files arrive, within the capacity of the test (regulation of 22 July 2019, article 3).
  • Dates published early. INLL publishes the planned dates and places on its website at least one month before the registration deadline (article 2).
  • Convocation in writing. INLL sends your convocation with the dates, times and places of the tests at least 15 days before the first test (article 3).
  • Fee reimbursement. The regulation provides full reimbursement of the registration fee for candidates who pass, on request to the minister in charge of nationality (article 4). Guichet.lu explains that the claim goes in after you submit your nationality application to the civil registrar of your commune.

Who registers for the Sproochentest

Applicants for Luxembourg nationality by naturalisation, and by the option routes that require a language certificate, present the Sproochentest pass certificate. The certificate is valid for an unlimited period, according to the INLL FAQ, so a pass in March 2027 stays valid for your file.

After you pass: your nationality file

Your Sproochentest pass certificate goes into your nationality file next to the Vivre ensemble certificate, which comes from a free 24-hour course or a free exam organised by the Service de la formation des adultes. For naturalisation, you file with the civil registrar of your commune and the Minister of Justice decides within eight months of receiving the file (law of 8 March 2017, articles 14 and 21).
